Discussion

Low pressure will continue to produce some rain in the region this morning, but a drying trend will get underway later today. We've been talking about the threat for a third storm this week coming out of the Southeast US and indeed the model trending to the north continues putting us right in the storm's precipitation field on Thursday and Thursday night. At the same time precipitation is likely to arrive in the DC metro region, cold air will be dropping in from the northwest. As a result, rain is likely to develop during the day, but it will change over to accumulating snow later tomorrow and tomorrow night. Stay tuned on this next threat as there is the chance for several inches of accumulations throughout the DC metro region. The weekend actually gets milder after a cold Friday to close out the work week, and then much colder air moves in early next week.
